Flip Flap Doors Go Thermal

This latest product has been designed through working with supermarket chains who witness incredible foot traffic through their cold room doorways. Because of the regularity of the deliveries, cold room doors get left open, cold air is lost and evaporators have to work much harder to maintain the temperature, causing huge loss of expensive energy.

A solution was required that retains the cold air when the main doors are open, allows staff to easily push heavy roll cages through without losing product, and closes behind them without using energy or impeding staff.

Traditional ‘flip flap' doors tend to lose their shape over time and become poor at insulating the doorway. They can also be heavy, difficult to push roll cages through and can become unhygienic.

The new thermal flip flap door from Polar is lightweight but rugged, thermally efficient and snug fitting, easy to walk through and falls back in place efficiently. Staff have welcomed the development and find them much better to use than PVC strip curtains.
