The KNAPP Group is one of the world’s leading suppliers of logistics technology and has successfully put into operation a LOGIM Pick-by-Voice solution at the distribution centres Viersen and Eching of Kaiser’s Tengelmann.

The LOGIM Warehouse Management System (WMS) controls all distribution centres of Kaiser’s Tengelmann in Germany (Berlin, Eching, Viersen, Nieder-Olm) including all processes from goods-in and storage location management to forklift control and paperless picking operations. As Kaiser’s Tengelmann has already been profiting from the LOGIM Pick-by-Voice solution at their site in Niederolm since 2004, it was decided in January 2007 that the centres in Viersen and Eching should also be upgraded.

In close cooperation between the two companies the LOGIM Pick-by-Voice system was installed within three weeks of the order being confirmed and is already in productive operation. In a subsequent step, when the actual ERP system DISPOS will be replaced, the LOGIM LMS (labour management system) is activated providing target time and cost calculation features.

Kaiser’s Tengelmann, the food wholesalers, whose headquarters are located in Viersen, is part of the Tengelmann Enterprise, located in Mülheim, and has 750 supermarkets in the regions Nordrhein, Berlin and surroundings, Rhein-Main-Neckar und Munich/Upper Bavaria.
